The Skellig Islands viewed from Bolas Head, County Kerry.
Little Skellig is in front of the larger Skellig Michael, on which is sited the sixth-century Christian monastery. This larger island is some 13km off the coast and rises to 230m above sea level. Four films were shot on the islands, "Heart of Glass (1976)", "Byzantium", "Star Wars - The Force Awakens (2015)" and "The Last Jedi (2015)".
